Letter Bb and the number 6 

Students are starting to recognize and write the letter B. Students are also starting to recognize the number 6 and find six objects.

Vocabulary Words 

Hibernation- Animals that take a season long snooze. 

Migration- Animals that move from one area to another. 

Adaptation- When people are animals use special skills to survive in their environment.

Students were to color and draw something in the cave that hibernates.  Before this Mrs. Jarecki showed a video of animals that hibernate.

Students were to cut and sort the animals. They were to sort the animals on if they hibernate OR migrate.

IPADS 

Mrs. Luebe came over from Shell Creek and taught students how to use the Ipads. Mrs. Luebe taught them a fun song about how to keep technology safe and how to work the Ipad. Students now can use the Ipad for 5 minutes a day in the classroom. 

IPADS La Sra. Luebe vino de Shell Creek y les enseñó a los estudiantes cómo usar los Ipad. La Sra. Luebe les enseñó una canción divertida sobre cómo mantener segura la tecnología y cómo trabajar con el Ipad. Los estudiantes ahora pueden usar el Ipad durante 5 minutos al día en el aula.

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Plant Unit- Week 1 (Plant Expert)

 Student of the Week  Alumno de la semana Number 6  Número 6 Plant Expert   Mrs. Brenda (Mrs. Jarecki's Mom) came to school to teach students about plants. They planted green bean seeds, sunflowers, and a bulb. Students learned that there are many different kinds of seeds. Seeds needs dirt, water, and sun to grow.  Experto en plantas La Sra. Brenda (la mamá de la Sra. Jarecki) vino a la escuela para enseñar a los estudiantes acerca de las plantas. Plantaron semillas de judías verdes, girasoles y un bulbo. Los estudiantes aprendieron que hay muchos tipos diferentes de semillas. Las semillas necesitan tierra, agua y sol para crecer.
