Happy Birthday!  Happy Birthday friend- We love you!  Make a Hypothesis  Students were to make a  hypothesis (a guess) on what would happen to the leaves in a jar full of colored water. Students were checking on it through the day and week. Ask your child what happened.  Sorting  AM students were to sort leaves by color.   PM students were to sort the leaves by color, size, and details.  Home Activity: Sort with your child. You can sort their toys together by size, color, and details.  Tree Art  Teachers traced the students hand and arm to make the base of the tree.  Social Bugs- Sharing  Students learned that they need to share our toys. When we share our toys we need to pass them kindly to the friend next to us and not throw them at our friends.  Errores sociales: compartir Los estudiantes aprendieron que necesitan compartir nuestros juguetes. Cuando compartimos nuestros juguetes, debemos pasárselos amablemente al amigo que está a nuestro lado y no arrojárselos a nuestros amigos. Tucker Turtle  I read a book about Tucker Turtle to students. Tucker would get mad when things happened and he would hit, kick, scream, and more to his friends. Tucker showed students a new way how to calm down. You STOP, TAKE 3 DEEP BREATHS, and think of a solution. This is an awesome way on how to solve problems.  Home Activity: Read the Tucker Turtle book at home- when your child gets mad or upset go through the Tucker Turtle steps.  https://challengingbehavior.cbcs.usf.edu/docs/TuckerTurtle_Story.pdf Tortuga Tucker Leí un libro sobre Tucker Turtle a los estudiantes.

Social Bug    The first social skill preschoolers are learning is how to get someones attention. Instead of yelling their name across the room. The student will walk over, tap their friend's shoulder, look at their eyes, and say their name. If the child is trying to get an adults attention- students should tap on the adults hip. This is such an important life skill because during their academic career and into the job force- people need to know not the shout across the room :)  La primera habilidad social que están aprendiendo los niños en edad preescolar es cómo llamar la atención de alguien.
