Handwriting- LINES!

Students are working on writing lines and curves in their handwriting book. Lines and Curves are what makes the letters. We are getting closer to writing letters. 


Escritura a mano- ¡LÍNEAS! Los estudiantes están trabajando en escribir líneas y curvas en su libro de escritura a mano. Las líneas y las curvas son las que forman las letras. Nos estamos acercando a escribir cartas.




Workers are School 

Find those doors!

Students went on a hunt to find doors around the school.  What are behind those doors in a school? Classrooms, teachers, students, the lunchroom., and more. When coming back into the room, we counted each groups tally marks to see which group found the most doors.  Ask your child what they remember from going on the school hunt. 

Los trabajadores son la escuela

¡Encuentra esas puertas!

Los estudiantes salieron a cazar para encontrar puertas alrededor de la escuela. ¿Qué hay detrás de esas puertas en una escuela? Aulas, maestros, estudiantes, el comedor y más. Al regresar a la habitación, contamos las marcas de conteo de cada grupo para ver qué grupo encontró más puertas. Pregúntele a su hijo qué recuerda de la caza de la escuela.







Spatial Awareness 

Students played a spatial awareness game. I gave all students either a print out of Dr. Plas OR Mr. Nygren. Students were to put them in different places in the room. 

HOME ACTIVITY- Play a spatial awareness game at home. Get a toy and then have them put the toy- between, on top of, under, next to, etc. 

Conciencia espacial

Los estudiantes jugaron un juego de conciencia espacial. Les di a todos los estudiantes una copia impresa del Dr. Plas O del Sr. Nygren. Los estudiantes debían colocarlos en diferentes lugares del salón.

ACTIVIDAD EN CASA: juega un juego de conciencia espacial en casa. Consiga un juguete y luego pídales que lo pongan: entre, encima, debajo, al lado, etc.




Field Trip

Students walked down to the school office to get a closer look at what goes on in the office. Students looked at everything the office has. Students asked Mrs. Sam, Guadeloupe, and Mr. Nygren question about what they do in the office and more. Students came back to the classroom and journaled what they saw. Ask your child what they remember about the office.

Los estudiantes caminaron hasta la oficina de la escuela para ver más de cerca lo que sucede en la oficina. Los estudiantes miraron todo lo que tiene la oficina. Los estudiantes le preguntaron a la Sra. Sam, Guadalupe y al Sr. Nygren sobre lo que hacen en la oficina y más. Los estudiantes regresaron al aula y registraron en un diario lo que vieron. Pregúntele a su hijo qué recuerda de la oficina.














Thank you Cards 

Students wrote thank you cards and then passed them out to different workers at the school! We LOVE PLATTE CENTER ELEMENTARY and LAKEVIEW!

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Sign Project Week 2

I have- Who has...  Students read their card with a sign on it then students had to listen to see if they have the card. For Example, I have a stop sign, who has the yield sign?  Yo tengo- Quien tiene...
