Valentine's Day Week

Happy Birthday Friend! 

This friend had a birthday on a snow day! So we celebrated this week instead :)

 Letter Mm and Number 10 

Students are working on recognizing and writing the letter M. Practice saying the letter M sound at home.  Students have made it all the way to number 10. Practice recognizing and saying the numbers during their play.

Blueprints 

Students were to draw a blueprint of a building with a friend. They needed to work together and decide what the building should look like and what it should have in it. What great teamwork was shown during this time.

Cut Out Name Hearts 

Students were to cut out their name heart and then put their name back together again- just like a puzzle. Some students did not even need their name card. Students that did need their name card are working hard on getting their letters memorized.

Students were to personalize their own bag for their Valentine's Day party :)

Tissue Paper Hearts 

Students were called in groups during Free Choice Time to complete a Valentine's Art Project. Students were to tear the tissue paper and then glue it on the heart.

Students celebrated Valentine's  Month by being Super Friends! Check out our kind heart- teachers have been watching all month for helpful friends :)

Students celebrated Valentine's Day with a fun game and passing out candies. We also had a yummy Valentine's Day snack :) Check out all the fun!!!

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Plant Unit- Week 1 (Plant Expert)

 Student of the Week  Alumno de la semana Number 6  Número 6 Plant Expert   Mrs. Brenda (Mrs. Jarecki's Mom) came to school to teach students about plants. They planted green bean seeds, sunflowers, and a bulb. Students learned that there are many different kinds of seeds. Seeds needs dirt, water, and sun to grow.  Experto en plantas La Sra. Brenda (la mamá de la Sra. Jarecki) vino a la escuela para enseñar a los estudiantes acerca de las plantas. Plantaron semillas de judías verdes, girasoles y un bulbo. Los estudiantes aprendieron que hay muchos tipos diferentes de semillas. Las semillas necesitan tierra, agua y sol para crecer.
