Plant Project- Week 2

 Plant a Bean 

Students were to plant a bean in a bag with a wet paper towel. Then students taped their bean to the window.  

Students also watched a bean time lapse to see what will happen to their bean. 

Plantar un frijol

Los estudiantes debían plantar un frijol en una bolsa con una toalla de papel. Luego, los estudiantes pegaron su frijol a la ventana.

Los estudiantes también vieron un lapso de tiempo de frijoles para ver qué pasaría con ellos.






Journals- Students drew their plant and then wrote in their journals what is going on with their sunflower. Sunflowers went home on Wednesday. Find a good spot for them because they will get up to 15 foot high :) 
Diarios: los estudiantes dibujaron su planta y luego escribieron en sus diarios lo que está sucediendo con su girasol. Los girasoles se fueron a casa el miércoles. Encuentre un buen lugar para ellos porque alcanzarán hasta 15 pies de altura :)








Parts of a Plant 

Students learned the parts of a plant. Students were to label and color the plant.

How many Seeds in the Jar 

Students had to come up with an estimation on how many beans were in the jar- Whoever was closer got a sucker :)

Celery and Food Coloring 

Students journaled what happened to the celery when it was put in blue and red food coloring.

Viking Voices 

AM students listened and watched the Viking Voices

Students are working on Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. The presents will be in your child's backpack.

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Sign Project Week 2

I have- Who has...  Students read their card with a sign on it then students had to listen to see if they have the card. For Example, I have a stop sign, who has the yield sign?  Yo tengo- Quien tiene...
