First FULL of Preschool 2021-2022

 Jobs 

Students picked their job for the classroom. Every job is so important to keep our classroom tidy. In the AM class, some students are on vacation since we have so many friends. :) Everyday student get to pick a different job. Check out the pictures before to see what Job your child had. 


Routine, Routine, Routine 

The start of a new school year means a new routine for all students since it is the first time at Lakeview Preschool. Students are learning how to be independent and have listening ears.  Routine will take some time and a lot of reminders on how we walk, wash hands, pick up toys, and more. 

Home Activity: Have your child pick up their toys, set the kitchen table, help you serve the food, and pick out their clothes- This will lead to confident and independent students- Life skills are so important- it teaches students to grow into independent adults and get jobs in the workforce. 


Class book

Students wrote their own page to our class book- this book is in the library area for students to look at their friends and learn their names. A book of their friends picture and name will be sent home next week :) 



Student Book 

I wanted to learn more about my students in the classroom. Students were to color and answer the questions to complete their own book. This book will be in their portfolio so I can show parents at Parent/ Teacher Conferences. 



Handwriting Books 

Students started writing in their handwriting books. Students had to write their names, draw a picture, and figure out their dominate hand. 

Home Activity: Have students hold their pencil with the correct form.  The correct form is to have one or two fingers on top of their pencil :) 




Assessments 

I have started GOLDs assessments on students- I will be assessing over Mathematics, Language, Cognitive, Literacy, Social/Emotional, and Physical.  During Parent/ Teacher Conferences, I will share where your child is, at development. Then we can talk about things they GLOW on and things to GROW on. 


Outside Play Time 

It has been very hot outside- we do go outside everyday ( remember to bring a water-bottle). Being outside might not be for the WHOLE time of outside time right now but we do go outside to get some fresh air. 













Free Choice Time 

Students are learning to share toys, use soft touches with our toys, and pick up the toys. So many skills are happening at this time. 


Next Week... 

Students are going to start learning Social Skills, how to be a Super Friend, and more :)

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Sign Project Week 2

I have- Who has...  Students read their card with a sign on it then students had to listen to see if they have the card. For Example, I have a stop sign, who has the yield sign?  Yo tengo- Quien tiene...
