What comes from trees?- Week 4

 Student of the Week 

This student was the student of the week. He brought in his favorite toy and  told us some fun things about himself during meeting time. Keep a look out for the Student of the Week bag :) 

Estudiante de la semana

Este estudiante fue el estudiante de la semana. Trajo su juguete favorito y nos contó algunas cosas divertidas sobre él durante la reunión. Esté atento a la bolsa del Estudiante de la semana :)

What are some foods that come from trees??? 

Students learned different foods that come from a tree. Ask your child what some foods are. 

¿Cuáles son algunos alimentos que provienen de los árboles?

Los estudiantes aprendieron diferentes alimentos que provienen de un árbol. Pregúntele a su hijo cuáles son algunos alimentos.

Will the apple sink OR float? 

Students were to make a hypothesis on what would happen to the apple in the water. Would it sink to the bottom OR float to the top? 

¿Se hundirá O flotará la manzana?

Los estudiantes debían hacer una hipótesis sobre lo que le pasaría a la manzana en el agua. ¿Se hundiría hasta el fondo o flotaría hasta arriba?

Five Senses 

Students learned about their five senses- Review them with your chid. 

Students were to use their senses and figure out what colored apple they like the best? Red, Yellow, Green. Ask your child what kind of apple they like the best. 

Cinco sentidos

Los estudiantes aprendieron sobre sus cinco sentidos: revíselos con su hijo.

Los estudiantes debían usar sus sentidos y averiguar qué color de manzana les gusta más. Rojo, amarillo, verde. Pregúntele a su hijo qué tipo de manzana le gusta más.

Apple Orchard Field Trip 

Students watched a short video on an apple orchard and how the apples get to the store and then at our house. Students then had to journal what they remembered from the video. 

Excursión al huerto de manzanas

Los estudiantes vieron un video corto sobre un huerto de manzanas y cómo las manzanas llegan a la tienda y luego a nuestra casa. Luego, los estudiantes tenían que escribir en un diario lo que recordaban del video.

Parts of the Apple 

Students learned the parts of an apple- stem, core, skin, and leaf. Some students had to cut the labels and others had to glue on their labels. 

Home Activity: Eat an apple with your child and figure out the parts of the apple together. 

Partes de la manzana

Los estudiantes aprendieron las partes de una manzana: tallo, corazón, piel y hoja. Algunos estudiantes tuvieron que cortar las etiquetas y otros tuvieron que pegar sus etiquetas.

Actividad en casa: coma una manzana con su hijo y descubran juntos las partes de la manzana. 

Letter Ll 

Students wrote the letter Ll, said the sound of the letter Ll,  and listened to words with that start with that letter. 

Home Activity: Homework was sent home to work on as a family. 

Letra Ll

Los estudiantes escribieron la letra Ll, dijeron el sonido de la letra Ll y escucharon las palabras que comienzan con esa letra.

Actividad en casa: Se enviaron tareas a casa para trabajar en familia.

PM Field Trip 

Students went on a nature walk and found apples and cherries on a tree. 

(We had permission from the owner before we picked them). 

Viaje de campo por la tarde

Los estudiantes dieron un paseo por la naturaleza y encontraron manzanas y cerezas en un árbol.

(Teníamos permiso del propietario antes de recogerlos).
