The Cat in the Hat 

Mrs. Jarecki read The Cat in the Hat and then students would to work as a group to stack the red cups as high as they could. Trying to make a tall hat tower. 

El gato en el sombrero

La Sra. Jarecki leyó El gato en el sombrero y luego los estudiantes trabajarían en grupo para apilar los vasos rojos lo más alto que pudieran. Tratando de hacer una torre de sombrero alto.















1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish 

Mrs. Jarecki read 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. Students were to sort the colored fish and then count how many on each color.

La Sra. Jarecki leyó 1 pez, 2 peces, pez rojo, pez azul de Dr. Seuss. Los estudiantes debían clasificar los peces de colores y luego contar cuántos había en cada color.






What Pet Would You Get? 

Mrs. Jarecki read the book What Pet Would You Get by Dr. Seuss. After we read the book, students were to make a pet that they would want with a Student Council Member.  Look at all their creations!

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Plant Unit- Week 1 (Plant Expert)

 Student of the Week  Alumno de la semana Number 6  Número 6 Plant Expert   Mrs. Brenda (Mrs. Jarecki's Mom) came to school to teach students about plants. They planted green bean seeds, sunflowers, and a bulb. Students learned that there are many different kinds of seeds. Seeds needs dirt, water, and sun to grow.  Experto en plantas La Sra. Brenda (la mamá de la Sra. Jarecki) vino a la escuela para enseñar a los estudiantes acerca de las plantas. Plantaron semillas de judías verdes, girasoles y un bulbo. Los estudiantes aprendieron que hay muchos tipos diferentes de semillas. Las semillas necesitan tierra, agua y sol para crecer. AM- Viking Voices  The AM students listened to the Viking Voices on Wednesday morning.  AM- Voces Vikingas Los estudiantes de AM escucharon Viking Voices el miércoles por la mañana.
