Last Week for Sign Project

Draw your favorite store 

Students were to draw and write in their journal what their favorite store is.

Los estudiantes debían dibujar y escribir en su diario cuál es su tienda favorita.





How do you make a sign? 

Students watched a video on how signs are made- it takes a very long time to make signs. They do not paint them...ask your child what they used. 

¿Cómo se hace una señal?

Los estudiantes vieron un video sobre cómo se hacen los letreros: se necesita mucho tiempo para hacer letreros. No los pintan... pregúntele a su hijo qué usaron.



What do you know about about signs? 

Students reviewed everything that they have learned about signs and then told Mrs. Jarecki everything they remember about this project.

Los estudiantes repasaron todo lo que habían aprendido sobre las señales y luego le dijeron a la Sra. Jarecki todo lo que recordaban sobre este proyecto.



Draw your body for our class pictures 

Students and Mrs. Jarecki sang the song Mat Man- then students were given a small piece of paper to draw their own body. When students are drawing they were working on the lines and curves and lines and curves make up the letters :)

Los estudiantes y la Sra. Jarecki cantaron la canción Mat Man, luego se les dio a los estudiantes una pequeña hoja de papel para dibujar su propio cuerpo. Cuando los estudiantes están dibujando, estaban trabajando en las líneas y curvas y las líneas y curvas forman las letras :)



Letter Vv, Ww, and number 2 

Students learned to recognize the letter V, W, and the number 2. Students learned how to write the letters and the number. Then students learned the sound and came up with words that start with those letters.

Los estudiantes aprendieron a reconocer la letra V, W y el número 2. Los estudiantes aprendieron a escribir las letras y el número. Luego, los estudiantes aprendieron el sonido y crearon palabras que comienzan con esas letras.

Gingerbread Man

  Happy Birthday  We celebrated two birthdays this week! We LOVE you both!  What did you get for Christmas?  Students were to write in their journals on what they got for Christmas.  Gingerbread Man Paper  This week, we have read different versions of the Gingerbread man, boy, girl, and family. Students had to then answer questions about the story at Center Time.  .  What did you eat first?  Students were given a gingerbread cookie. At the table, teachers watched to see what part of the cookie the students ate first. The head, arm, or leg. Then students wrote their name on a sticky note and then we graphed that information.  Why didn't the gingerbread man want to swim in the water?  Letter Cc  Students are learning to recognize, say the sound, and write the letter Cc. They are also coming up with words that start with the letter Cc.

Plant Unit- Week 1 (Plant Expert)

 Student of the Week  Alumno de la semana Number 6  Número 6 Plant Expert   Mrs. Brenda (Mrs. Jarecki's Mom) came to school to teach students about plants. They planted green bean seeds, sunflowers, and a bulb. Students learned that there are many different kinds of seeds. Seeds needs dirt, water, and sun to grow.  Experto en plantas La Sra. Brenda (la mamá de la Sra. Jarecki) vino a la escuela para enseñar a los estudiantes acerca de las plantas. Plantaron semillas de judías verdes, girasoles y un bulbo. Los estudiantes aprendieron que hay muchos tipos diferentes de semillas. Las semillas necesitan tierra, agua y sol para crecer.
